From the Misty Méng Shān to Your Cup

Zhou Xiang, our Senior Tea Expert for green, black, and yellow teas, first encountered Méngdǐng Huángyá on a sourcing trip to Sichuan’s ancient tea territory in spring 2025. Méng Shān, one of China’s oldest tea mountains, is a landscape of cloud‑wreathed peaks where the humid microclimate coaxes out a uniquely gentle leaf. He worked directly with a small family farm whose men huang — the slow, cloth‑wrapped yellowing step — has been passed down through four generations. Harvesting only the plumpest single buds in late March, the family monitors temperature and moisture over several days, allowing the leaf’s chlorophyll to gently break down and its sweetness to deepen. The result is a yellow tea that sidesteps the green‑tea grassy edge while preserving an ethereal lightness. Zhou Xiang selected this micro‑lot for its chestnut clarity and lingering huigan, bringing a taste of western China’s tea heritage to worldtea.shop. Each 50 g tin holds a moment of Méng Shān mist.
